General Manager

Glasgow Full time Salary dependent on experience Charity / not-for-profit Deadline: 15 Oct 2026
We are seeking a General Manager for the GSC Auldhouse charity who can take the organisation to the next level.
Background

Football for all, at the heart of the community

GSC Auldhouse is the charity that owns and runs the home of Giffnock Soccer Centre, using football as a force for good across Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

Giffnock Soccer Centre was founded in 1995 and is now Scotland's largest grassroots football club, with over 1,400 players and a further 200 coaches.

In 2020 the club began a strategic review of its structures, with a focus on establishing a single base for its club and community activities. In 2022 it secured a new home at GSC Auldhouse, formerly Hutchesons Sports Ground, in the south of Glasgow. Backed by £1.3m of funding, the facility is home to two new 3G pitches, four top-class grass pitches, a significant clubhouse and an on-site head greenkeeper's residence.

The facility is owned and managed by the charity, GSC Auldhouse Ltd, which lets it to Giffnock Soccer Centre. Its strategic aim is to use the facilities during off-peak football hours to deliver outstanding and innovative community development work.

Over the last 18 months, GSC Auldhouse has delivered important social inclusion work. Funders including Foundation Scotland, the National Lottery and Cash for Kids have supported programmes ranging from Female Empowerment classes to Holiday Hope camps for disadvantaged young people, and ESOL classes for neighbours who are new to Scotland. Real progress has also been made in generating income through private lettings of the 3G pitches and wider commercial partnerships.
